Responsible for all general respiratory care duties as a respiratory care practitioner 3, which includes the administration of aerosol therapy, arterial blood analysis, ECG's, pulmonary function screening, oxygen administration, and incentive spriometry. Intensive care experience must include but not limited to arterial line management, ventilator maintenance and troubleshooting, intubation and extubation of patients and blood gas lab operation
Education:Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited school of respiratory therapy required.
Experience:Three (3) years respiratory therapy experience, including experience in a critical care capacity.Skills:Ability to communicate / provide clear and accurate information in an appropriate manner consistent with the developmental age range of the patient. Ability to follow written and oral instructions and established procedures. Has current knowledge and skills appropriate to age / type of patient population served. Must be competent in performing general respiratory care procedures, and in performing care of critical patients. Ability to supervise in a respiratory care setting.
Licenses/Certifications: Current New Mexico license to practice respiratory care and Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) certification required, as is current BLS and ACLS certification.
